Ugh I do not even care but can we please talk about what we mean when we call things “populist”? The Tea Party is a populist movement, Sarah Palin always gets called a populist, same with George “Segregation Forever” Wallace. David Duke once ran for president as the Populist Party nominee. Obviously populism as a political ideology is a different thing than “populist” as a thing internet feminists call each other, but just, ughhh, “populist” is not a synonym for “radical”, not even necessarily “egalitarian”, certainly not “anti-racist”, Caitlin Moran can keep it I don’t care.
